These findings are from a Dext survey, in conjunction with Censuswide, of 2,441 accountants & bookkeepers at firms of various sizes across the globe.

Bad data is costing you time and money

Non-Dext partners spend on average 4 hours and 45 minutes each week checking bad client data.

Those using Dext Precision spend on average just 1 hour and 48 minutes.

That gives Dext users 2 hrs 58 mins per week to reinvest into their firm, charge out more billable hours, or take the time to do as they please.

Save 44.5 hours a week

With the average size firm having 15 accountants & bookkeepers and each one spending 4 hrs and 45 mins each week checking bad client data, 71.5 hrs will be spent finding errors each week in total. That adds up to 3,289 hours a year.

Compare that with a Dext Precision partner of the same size and they’ll only spend 27 hours a week checking for errors – a saving of 44.5 hrs each week. Over a working year, this adds up to 2,047 hours being saved.

“Bad data is a bigger challenge than many accountants and bookkeepers initially realise. Many of the accountants we surveyed want to invest time in developing new services for their clients. Time spent manually checking client data is an opportunity cost to firm growth and new revenue lines.

Automating the checking of data across your practice is the equivalent of giving yourself one hour back each day. Knowing the quality of your client’s data before taking them on allows you to price more accurately, not to mention the benefit of detecting tax risks or lost opportunities from miscoding quicker.”
