Dext goes live with enhanced user experience

A couple of months ago we announced plans to evolve your Dext experience. You’ll be pleased to know that we’ve started the rollout of those changes, many of which are now available for you to use. This is a landmark moment for us, but more importantly, it will help to simplify your use of Dext and your wider bookkeeping workflow. As part of these changes, we’ve also launched a brand new website. 

In this blog, we’ll guide you through the new-and-improved Dext experience.

Phase one of the Dext evolution 

In July, we shared plans to evolve Dext and to combine our three products into one integrated experience – upgrading Dext Prepare and combining it with features from Dext Precision and Dext Commerce. 

We have now entered the first phase of that evolution. Dext Partners (accountants and bookkeepers) will now find it much easier to manage client workflows and any internal bookkeeping. You’ll now see one client list and have more options to help you organise your client work.

Why switch to the enhanced Dext experience today?

We’ve heard directly from our customers that you do your best work when you have all the information you need, exactly when you need it. With the new Dext experience, entire bookkeeping workflow is accessible from one platform – no more jumping between products or juggling subscriptions. 

From the moment a business transaction is made, to the point at which you're ready to publish to your accounting software, you can now find all of the tools and features you need to get that data where it should be.

You’ll notice we have two videos – one for accountants and bookkeepers, and one for business owners – so please watch whichever one is relevant to you.

Phase two of the Dext evolution

In November, we'll continue this evolution by introducing Dext Precision functionality to the single experience for our Partners. This will give you access to data health, data clean-up tools, business insights and even practice dashboards all within a single Dext platform. Dext Precision partners will have all of the current Dext Precision features available to them in the new platform. Partners who do not currently have Dext Precision will have the option to upgrade and access these features from within the platform.

For Partners' clients and business customers who sell online, you’ll be able to connect Shopify, Squarespace or Wix sites so that sales and costs from these platforms go directly into your client’s Sales and Cost Inbox.

We’re also adding additional functionality such as mileage tracking and approvals soon to enhance your business’s expense management processes. And, very soon, you'll have access to several data health, business insight and e-commerce features.

Please note that any Dext Precision or Dext Commerce functionality you add to your plan will come at an additional cost. We are committed to maintaining the same simple and transparent per-client pricing we have today. The new platform will provide even more flexibility for our customers to buy Dext and get access to the features that provide the most value to them. Why are we making changes to Dext? 

Accurate, current business data has always been the foundation that connects businesses, bookkeepers and accountants. But, in today’s world, businesses are moving faster – and they expect their advisors to do the same. On top of that, compliance continues to digitise at pace, forcing bookkeepers and accountants to meet new requirements and provide more value in line with new legislation.

In light of today’s landscape, bookkeepers and accountants are tasked with ensuring all digital processes are connected and data is up to date and relevant. To help our customers achieve that, we are combining features from three products into a single platform. 

It will be even easier for users to capture data in real time while ensuring accurate recording. Whether you’re a bookkeeper, accountant or business owner, you'll have better access to automation that saves time, reduces manual work and ensures data health. Your data will be more up to date, and insights more actionable. In turn, firms and businesses will be able to operate at speed with maximum efficiency.

What support is available?

Switching to the enhanced experience is simple and we're here to support you and make the transition as smooth as possible for you and your clients. We have training for both Partners and businesses, as well as specific training resources for clients. In addition to those resources, your Customer Success Manager and Account Manager are on hand to help with any questions. As always, we welcome feedback so we can continue to iterate and refine your overall experience. 

The new Dext website

As part of Dext’s evolution, we have also launched a brand new website. The new dext.com showcases what's coming very soon in the platform with our fully integrated experience and single bookkeeping automation platform. 

The site highlights how a single, integrated platform supports the needs of bookkeepers, accountants and businesses with data capture, data automation, data health & insight and practice productivity in one place. What’s next?

In early October, we’ll be hosting our next round of Global Partner Updates. Unsurprisingly, the main focus for all those sessions will be around the new enhanced experience. We'll continue to discuss the exciting plans to upgrade Dext Prepare, and cover the benefits of switching your practice and clients to the enhanced experience. You’ll also get a preview of the second rollout which involves the integration of key features from Dext Precision and Dext Commerce to create a seamless Bookkeeping Automation Platform.
