QBConnect 2017 Silicon Valley: There Must Be Something In The Water

QBConnect 2017 Silicon Valley: There Must Be Something In The Water

In a 2012 interview with the Financial Times, Reid Hoffman, co-founder of LinkedIn, commented that, “Silicon Valley is a mindset, not a location.”

It’s a mindset of innovation, drive and success, and so it seems only natural that QuickBooks Connect – a beacon of innovation in the accounting and bookkeeping landscape – will return there for another year.

The fourth annual QuickBooks Connect conference will see approximately 3000 attendees flock to San Jose for meet-ups, breakout sessions, talks, and even morning yoga classes. This year’s speakers range from Shonda Rhimes, Chief Storyteller on television series such as Grey’s Anatomy and Scandal, to Nate Berkus, interior designer to the stars and best-selling author. There are also mimosa networking sessions, walking tours and guided meditations – whatever you can think of, the organisers of QuickBooks Connect have probably already thought of it!

THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT SAN JOSE

So why choose Silicon Valley? The answer seems obvious: Silicon Valley is the global epicentre of technology, with almost 7000 tech companies established there. Naturally, all the big players such as Google and Microsoft have a presence, but so too do smaller start-ups and success-hungry young entrepreneurs.

It’s no wonder San Jose attracts so many forward-thinking types; the city itself is a prime example of a forward-thinking metropolis at work. It is illegal for grocery stores to supply plastic bags, for example, and San José has the best recycling system of any large American city. It makes sense that U.S. News rates Silicon Valley at #3 in the top places to live in the U.S. – check out our infographic on fun things to do in the city.

INSPIRING INNOVATION

QuickBooks Connect is a hub for the forward-thinking players in the accounting industry. With exhibits from some of the most disruptive software vendors in the industry, such as T SheetsBill.com and Gusto, and talks from thought leaders and Receipt Bank favourites Clayton Oates and Mark Wickersham, it looks to be a fantastic year.

Receipt Bank is one of QuickBooks’ ProAdvisor Picks, and we’re proud to work hand-in-hand with them to bring easy, efficient bookkeeping to accountants and bookkeepers all over the world. We integrate with QuickBooks Online so that you can operate an inclusive, end-to-end accounting solution and make your clients, your team – and your profit margin – happy.

A large number of our team will be at QuickBooks Connect to showcase the latest developments in our market-leading artificial intelligence and machine learning tools. We'll be the ones in orange at stand P4. Come and chat with our friendly team – we'll be happy to discuss how you can become more profitable, efficient and competitive with our smart automation tools.
