XeroCon Brisbane 2019: Enhancing the human in all that we do

XeroCon is known as the most beautiful conference in the world.

This year was no different, yet it brought an unexpected message:

Be Kind.

And we think you nailed it.

Over 3,000 Xero partners attended this year’s XeroCon in Brisbane. If you were lucky enough to be one of them, you’ll have had an opportunity to explore some of the best small-business tech on the market.

There were more apps, speakers, events to sample and networking opportunities at this year’s event than ever before.

Accounting and bookkeeping: it’s never been better

Over 75 app exhibitors were on hand this year in Brisbane, including established names such as Spotlight Reporting and rising stars like AccountKit. They didn’t shy away from getting into the nitty-gritty of how to get the most out of your apps and introduce you to ones you never knew you needed.

Two of the key takeaways? There’s never been a better time to be in the accounting and bookkeeping industry and that using technology can enhance the human in all that we do.

Key Xero product releases this year

Some of the major news regarding new Xero products included…

Single Sign-On – making signing into business apps with Apple or Google accounts much easier and more secure, with Single Sign-On users can build on the Xero platform without all the hassle. This means no more remembering passwords, and they can also integrate Xero with other third-party apps. All you need is one password to access hundreds of possibilities.

Advisor-powered app recommendations – now providing over 800+ certified apps, your range of choice has been significantly increased. Accompanied by a customised App Marketplace, users can search for the services, tools and apps that their business requires; all conveniently found in one place.

New bank feed connections – having connected with Waddle, a leading Australian fintech, near real-time views of users’ working capital account transactions can be accessed from within Xero. And what’s more, businesses can borrow against their receivables to help fund their operations.

Data that’s quick, easy and magical

As Xero’s largest app partner, it’s no secret that Receipt Bank and Xero work hand-in-hand. Receipt Bank integrates seamlessly with Xero, making it is the easiest way to get your financial data into Xero with no paper and no fuss.

We make it quick and easy to get data in. It’s small business accounting that’s simple, smart and ever so often, magical.

Receipt Bank: making a difference

Software is rarely the star of the show at XeroCon: it’s the people who make a difference.

Like at our Receipt Bank Breakfast at XeroCon, where we welcomed guest speakers, cloud consultant Heather Smith and Tim Hoopmann, cloud specialist and founder of Spinn Solutions.

Heather and Tim spoke about about automation in the workplace and shared their top tips on implementation, training and overcoming road-blocks.

A healthy work-life balance is key to maintain a good mental health. But we realise that for many it’s not that simple. That’s why we’re proud to support Beyond Blue. Beyond Blue is an Australian independent non-profit organisation working to address issues associated with depression, suicide, anxiety disorders and other related mental disorders.

Every attendee made a generous donation of $20. In total, we managed to raise a $4,000 for Beyond Blue.

If you haven’t donated yet, find out more about the great work Beyond Blue does here.
