The updates that matter this month. Available in your Dext account now.

⭐️ Highlight of the month

Spot suppliers ready for auto-publish

Dext now shows you which suppliers are ready for auto-publish, based on receipts and invoices from that supplier that have been published without any manual edits over the past three months.

Why it's worth a look:

  • Faster processing - once a supplier is turned on, its documents skip the manual review step entirely, so they flow straight through to your accounting software.
  • Less repetitive work - no more reviewing the same, predictable documents from the same supplier week after week.
  • Backed by your own data - suggestions are based on your actual publish history, not a generic rule, so you can trust they reflect suppliers that are genuinely low-risk.
  • You stay in control - every suggestion is opt-in; you decide supplier by supplier whether to turn auto-publish on.
  • More time for higher-value work - the time saved on routine data entry can go toward advisory work and exceptions that actually need a human eye.
  • Easy to spot - suggestions are surfaced to you at the top of the Costs space, so you don't have to go hunting for automation opportunities.

Sync shared drives to Vault

Make it easier for your clients to organise their documents and you to access them. Vault Sync now supports shared drives across Google Drive, OneDrive and Dropbox, including bidirectional editing, renaming, moving and deleting.

This is particularly useful for larger businesses that organise documents across teams or departments.

What is Vault?

Vault is an intelligent document storage space in Dext for important business documents that aren't receipts or invoices. As you add files, it reads each one to fill in a summary, tags, a file name, and any due date, making them easier to find and stay on top of.

Customise mileage rates to fit business policies

Businesses can now set their own reimbursement rates for mileage claims, rather than using the approved country rates. This is ideal for businesses with specific reimbursement policies or rates agreed through employment contracts and employee benefits.

Business admins can set a custom rate in Business Settings > Mileage and switch between custom and approved country rates as needed. The same calculation methods and automated distance tracking apply, with no changes to the employee experience when creating a claim.

Connect Dext to your AI tools

AI Connector (Dext's MCP) let you and your team query your Dext practice data straight from the AI tools you already use - ChatGPT, Claude, and Copilot. Just ask in plain language and get an answer powered by your real Dext data: client status, compliance, data health, workflow progress, and team performance.

At launch it's read-only, so it can't make any changes to your Dext data, and it's built for accountant and bookkeeping partners only - there's no client access.

Especially handy on the go, or whenever you need a quick sense check without opening Dext directly.

Pay overseas invoices without leaving Dext

Pay overseas invoices in the currency they're owed - without manual foreign exchange conversions or workarounds.

International payments are now available in Dext Payments, making it easier for you to help clients manage foreign-currency payments as part of their existing payment workflow.

Create wallets in supported currencies and pay invoices directly from the relevant currency wallet. This means no need to manually convert funds or use external payment processes - keeping international payments within Dext from invoice to payment.

What is Dext Payments?

Dext Payments is available for Xero and QuickBooks Online integrated accounts in the UK. In Canada, Dext Payments is in open beta for QuickBooks Online integrated accounts. Multi-currency functionality is available only where enabled for your business; currencies and payment methods depend on your Payments setup and connected accounting software.
