Dext appoints Sendi Young as UK & Ireland General Manager and Sam Wood as Product Domain Expert

LONDON – MONDAY 14TH SEPTEMBER 2026 – Dext, a leading provider of AI-powered bookkeeping automation connecting the full capture-to-pay workflow, today announces two appointments to its UK team. Sendi Young joins as UK & Ireland General Manager, and Sam Wood joins from HMRC as Product Domain Expert.

Sendi will lead Dext's UK & Ireland business through its next phase of growth, focused on helping existing customers get more value from Dext, growing adoption among accounting and bookkeeping practices, and building a scalable, high-performing commercial team across the region. Sam will focus on Dext's future product roadmap, from e-invoicing to Making Tax Digital, and on the UK's longer-term move towards a more automated, real-time tax system, alongside external thought leadership on where UK tax and accounting software is heading.

Sendi joins Dext with around 20 years' experience in financial technology and payments, spanning cards, account-to-account payments and blockchain infrastructure. She was most recently Interim Chief Commercial Officer at Modulr, where she led the commercial organisation through a period of change and renewed growth. Before that, she spent three years as Managing Director for UK & Europe at Ripple, and spent five years at Mastercard working with banks and fintechs across payments and data.

Sendi is also an Independent Non-Executive Director of Fnality UK and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. Her early focus at Dext will include helping practices navigate Making Tax Digital and increasing adoption of newer capabilities such as Payments and AI Assist.

Sam joins Dext from HMRC, where he spent close to seven years working on the UK's tax transformation agenda. He joined HMRC in 2019, before moving onto the Making Tax Digital programme in August 2021. There, he worked directly with tax agents and software developers, including Dext, to shape the mandate's policy and design. He then went on to lead taxpayer readiness in the run-up to Making Tax Digital for Income Tax's go-live in April 2026, the point at which millions of sole traders and landlords began keeping digital records and reporting quarterly.

Sam is also an ICAEW-qualified accountant who has worked hands-on with Dext in practice. He led the rollout of cloud tools, including Dext, at Blu Sky Chartered Accountants, later becoming the firm's Innovations Director. Sam's early priorities will include listening closely to tax agents and developers to bring their perspective into Dext's product decisions, and building his external profile through thought leadership, including webinars and articles, on Making Tax Digital and the wider tax agenda.
