That’s why we’re excited to introduce two powerful new features—Mileage and Approvals—to streamline the process, saving valuable time for businesses and providing more accurate and timely data for accountants and bookkeepers.
With Mileage, Dext offers a fast, automatic way for employees to submit travel-related expenses. Whilst our Approvals feature simplifies the claim approval process, making it faster and more reliable.
Here we take a closer look at both features and how they can benefit businesses and accountants and bookkeepers. The below features are now available in all Dext subscriptions, at no extra cost.
New and enhanced expense management features
Mileage 🚘
We’ve introduced Mileage to Dext to give business owners and their employees an easier way to submit claims for business-related travel. Users can simply enter the trip start and end locations, either on the Dext mobile app or the web application. We’ll then automatically and accurately calculate reimbursable amounts based on distance travelled and government-approved rates, reducing manual entry and the potential for errors.
Key features include:
- Automatic rate calculation: Trip reimbursement amounts are automatically calculated using official regional government rates
- A dedicated space for trips: Users have a ‘mileage’ space to keep track of their past trips, so they can view details and totals for their journeys
- Submit on the go, or from your desk: Users can submit mileage claims on the go using the Dext mobile app or from the Dext web app

After submitting claims, the next step is approval—a process that can often be lengthy, leading to late reimbursements for employees and impacting cash flow. Dext Approvals helps businesses streamline this process, enabling faster, more efficient reimbursements while reducing the risk of errors and fraud. It provides an easy, flexible way to enhance financial control, ensuring each transaction is verified and approved by the right people.

- Encourage your team to download the Dext app for seamless expense submissions and a smoother, smarter way to manage expenses. You can add each team member as a user in Dext and send them an invite to download the app via Google Play or the Apple App Store.
