Dext Payments comes to QuickBooks Online, giving UK businesses and advisers one place to manage every payment

Dext Payments now extends to QuickBooks Online, building on £6 million processed since launch.

29TH JULY 2026 - Dext, the leading bookkeeping automation platform for accountants, bookkeepers and businesses, is today announcing the extension of Dext Payments to QuickBooks Online (QBO) users in the UK. The move means that Dext Payments is now available to hundreds of thousands of UK accountants, bookkeepers and businesses.

The expansion comes at a pivotal moment for UK small businesses. With £26 billion in overdue invoices owed to UK small businesses at any given time, late payments remain a persistent threat to business survival and growth.

The UK Government is acting. The Commercial Payments Bill, combining a mandatory 60-day payment cap, non-waivable interest, and an empowered Small Business Commissioner, is set to be the most comprehensive late payment framework among major economies. For businesses and their advisers, meeting those obligations means having the right processes in place.

That starts with being able to pay on time, every time. Dext Payments removes the friction that has historically made prompt payment difficult, bringing invoice approval and payment into a single, controlled workflow so businesses can avoid repercussions, and build stronger supplier relationships.

Launched in February 2026 as Dext's most requested feature to date, Dext Payments is a fully integrated payment solution that enables businesses and advisers to manage, approve and make supplier invoice, employee expense and payroll payments directly within Dext. Since launch, UK customers have processed more than £6 million through the platform, underlining the appetite among UK businesses and advisers for a more joined-up approach to payments. The extension to QBO brings that same end-to-end workflow to an even wider group of UK users.

Sabby Gill, CEO of Dext, says, "QuickBooks Online is one of the most widely used accounting platforms amongst UK businesses and practices, and bringing Dext Payments to them is a significant step in making our end-to-end payments workflow accessible to as many people as possible. We want to make it simple for every business and adviser using Dext to pay suppliers and employees from one place they already trust."

The QBO integration follows the same approvals-led, secure workflow that Xero users already benefit from. Invoices are uploaded to Dext and all details extracted automatically. From there, users can create single or batch payment runs, send them through customisable approval workflows, and submit payments, all without leaving the platform.

Security is built into every step, with Dext Payments operating under an EMI licence through its partnership with Airwallex, with fraud detection, SCA and full audit trails built in.

Stephen Edginton, Chief Product and Technology Officer, Dext, says, "Extending Payments to QBO users was the logical next step. Businesses should not have to choose between their accounting platform and a better payments experience. By supporting QBO, we are removing that barrier and giving more businesses the tools to take control of their payments, reduce manual work, and get suppliers paid on time."

For accounting and bookkeeping practices, the extension to QBO means more clients can now be supported through a single, consistent payments workflow inside Dext. Practices can standardise processes across their client base, reduce time spent chasing approvals and managing disconnected systems, and offer payments as a value-added service, helping to deepen client relationships and create new revenue opportunities.

For businesses, it removes the need to log into banking portals or input payment details manually, reducing the risk of human error and giving full visibility over every payment. The ability to move quickly from invoice to payment can make a real difference to supplier relationships and cash flow management.

Alongside the QBO launch, Dext is also introducing international payments in beta for both QBO and Xero users. The new capability will allow businesses and advisers to create multiple wallets in various currencies, transfer funds between wallets, convert currency directly within the platform, and pay cross-border invoices. This extends Dext’s single-workflow approach allowing users to pay all their domestic and international invoices and expenses from a single workspace with Xero and QBO reconciliation.

Dext Payments for QuickBooks Online is available now to UK Dext customers.
